Central Banks: Interest rate meetings will be held in Colombia, Australia and Jamaica. Speaking publicly during the period will be RBA Governor Bullock, MPC members Mann and Ramsden of the Bank of England, Sleijpen of the ECB and Goolsbee, Musalem, Barkin, Kashkari, Williams, and Collins of the Federal Reserve. The Bank of Japan publishes its quarterly Tankan survey of corporate perceptions and expectations and also some minutes of a past Board meeting.
Events and Holidays: New Zealand moves to daylight savings time on Sunday. Also that day will be a referendum in Switzerland to decide if Swiss neutrality is to be formally enshrined in its constitution. China observes a one-week long holiday (October 1-7) in commemoration of the founding of the communist government in 1949. This is the last week before a planned parliamentary election in Latvia on October 3 and a general election in Brazil on October 4.

Scheduled U.S. Economic Data Releases: 2Q GDP and PCE price deflator. Monthly personal income, personal spending, PCE price deflator, unemployment, nonfarm payroll employment, average hourly earnings, FHFA and Case Shiller house price indices, the challenger report, factory orders, JOLTS data of job openings and quits, construction spending, consumer confidence and the Dallas Fed manufacturing index. Weekly jobless insurance claims, chain store sales, oil inventories, and mortgage applications.
Japanese Releases: Industrial production, retail sales, housing starts, construction orders, Tokyo consumer prices, corporate service prices, unemployment, monetary base, indices of leading and coincident economic indicators and consumer confidence.
