Central Banks: The Bank of Japan’s quarterly Tankan survey of corporate perceptions and expectations will be published as well as minutes from the last Reserve Bank of Australia Board meeting. Interest rate policy will be reviewed at central banks in Colombia and Jamaica. Central bankers speaking publicly in the period include Barkin and Williams of the Federal Reserve, Lagarde and Lane of the European Central Bank, Pill, Breeden and Bailey of the Bank of England, and Governor Bullock of the Reserve Bank of Australia.

Events and Holidays: The presidency of the European Union Council shifts to Ireland from Cyprus on July 1. U.S. markets will be closed Friday in observance of the semiquincentennial anniversary of the Declaration of Independence signing. Canada Day, which falls this year next Wednesday, commemorates the Constitution Act of 1867, when Canadian colonies united as a confederation.

Purchasing Manager Surveys for June: covering manufacturing and service sector activities for many countries will be published on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Scheduled U.S. Economic Data Releases: Nonfarm payroll employment, unemployment, average hourly earnings, home prices, Dallas Fed manufacturing index, Chicago PMI, factory orders, motor vehicle sales, construction spending, and ADP estimate of private jobs growth. Weekly jobless insurance claims, mortgage applications, energy inventories and chain store sales.

Euroland Releases: Consumer prices, producer prices, home prices, industrial production, consumer confidence, economic sentiment, and unemployment.

Members of the Euro Area: German, Spanish, French, Italian, Slovenian, Austrian and Cypriot consumer prices. French, Italian and Austrian producer prices. French, Spanish, Lithuanian, Portuguese and Croatian industrial production. German, Italian, Spanish, Slovenian, Portuguese, Latvian, Irish, Estonian, Croatian, Dutch and Estonian retail sales. Spanish and Slovakian consumer sentiment.German unemployment, French household consumption, and Austria’s current account. Dutch GDP and current account.

U.K. and Switzerland: British current account, GDP, mortgage approvals, shop prices, and Nationwide house price index. Swiss CPI, retail sales and KOF leading economic indicator.

Eastern Europe:  Romanian, Hungarian and Bulgarian PPI. Russian and Czech GDP. Russian retail sales and business sentiment.

Nordic Europe: Swedish retail sales and trade balance. Danish GDP.

Japanese Releases: Retail sales, industrial production, housing starts, construction orders, consumer confidence, unemployment and monetary base.

Other Asia: Indian and South Korean industrial production. South Korea, Singaporean and Hong Kong retail sales. Malaysian and South Korean PPI. South Korean current account and Indonesian trade balance.

Australia, New Zealand, Turkey and South Africa: Australia’s trade balance and New Zealand business confidence. Turkish CPI, PPI, trade balance and economic sentiment. South African trade balance, money growth and domestic credit expansion.

Canada, Mexico and Brazil: Canadian GDP and Mexican consumer confidence. Brazilian PPI and industrial production.
