Central Banks: Monetary policy reviews will occur next week in South Korea and Sri Lanka. The FOMC minutes get published on Wednesday. Broeden and Pill of the Bank of England and Jordan of the Swiss National Bank are speaking publicly.

Events and Holidays: Austrians elect their president on Sunday, October 9th. The IMF-World Bank annual meetings run October 10 – 16th in Washington, D.C. and can be attended virtually as well. Monday will be observed as Columbus Day in the U.S., Thanksgiving in Canada, and Sports Day in Japan. Spain’s National Day falls on Wednesday.

Scheduled U.S. Data Releases: Consumer prices, producer prices, import prices, small business sentiment, the IBD/TIPP optimism index, retail sales, the fiscal monthly budget and the U. Michigan consumer sentiment index. Weekly releases include jobless insurance claims, mortgage applications, energy inventories and chain store sales.

Japanese and Chinese Releases: Japanese machinery orders, current account, producer prices, money growth, bank lending, tertiary index, and machine tool orders. Chinese money growth, bank loans, trade balance, CPI and PPI.

Selected Other Asian Data: Indonesian and Thai consumer confidence. Indian and Filipino trade balances. Malaysian and Indian industrial production. Indian WPI, Indonesian retail sales, Malaysian unemployment and Singapore GDP.

Euroland Releases: Industrial production, trade balance and Sentix measure of investor sentiment.

Members of the Euro Area: German, French, Spanish, Finnish, Greek and Irish consumer prices. Italian, Belgian, Austrian and Finnish industrial production. German wholesale prices, current account and index of leading economic indicators. Irish construction purchasing managers index, Greek unemployment and Finnish GDP. Dutch and Portuguese trade balances.

U.K. and Switzerland: British monthly GDP, industrial production, construction output, same-store sales, trade balance, labor statistics, RICs housing index, and index of leading economic indicators. Swiss PPI and import prices.

Nordic Europe: Danish, Norwegian and Swedish consumer prices. Denmark’s current account and Norwegian producer prices.

Eastern Europe: Czech, Romanian, Polish and Hungarian consumer prices. Romanian GDP and industrial production. Russian and Polish current accounts.

Australia and New Zealand: Australian AIG-compiled services purchasing managers survey, new home sales, Westpac index of consumer confidence, and NAB indices of business confidence and conditions. New Zealand food prices and manufacturing PMI.

South Africa and Turkey: South African factory output and business sentiment. Turkish and South African unemployment. Turkish industrial production and retail sales.

Canada, Mexico, and Brazil: Canadian survey of manufacturing sales, orders and inventories. Mexican industrial production. Brazilian consumer prices and index of leading economic indicators.
