Central Banks: Monetary policy reviews are scheduled next week at the Federal Reserve, Bank of Japan, Swedish Riksbank, and in Hungary and Colombia. Fed Chairman Powell will hold a press conference. So will Bank of Japan Governor Kuroda. The BOJ will publish an updated Outlook for Economic Activity and Prices.

Holidays: New Zealanders observe ANZAC Day on Monday. Tuesday and Thursday are respectively Freedom Day in South Africa and Showa Day in Japan. China’s Labor Day and the Greek Orthodox Good Friday holiday fall on Friday.

Scheduled U.S. Economic Data Releases: Quarterly first-quarter GDP, PCE price deflator, and employment cost index. Monthly personal income and spending, PCE price deflator, FHFA and Case Shiller house price indices, Richmond and Dallas Fed manufacturing surveys, consumer confidence (both the Conference Board and Reuters/U. Michigan indices), Chicago regional purchasing managers index, pending home sales, durable goods orders, and advance trade balance. Weekly jobless insurance claims, consumer comfort, chain store sales, mortgage applications and energy inventories.

Japanese and Chinese Data: Japanese retail sales, Tokyo consumer prices, unemployment, housing starts, construction orders, consumer confidence, corporate service prices and index of leading economic indicators. Chinese NBS manufacturing and non-manufacturing purchasing manager indices, Caixin-compiled manufacturing PMI, corporate profits and index of leading economic indicators.

Nordic Europe: Swedish GDP, consumer sentiment, business confidence, trade balance, jobless rate and PPI. Danish and Norwegian retail sales. Icelandic and Norwegian unemployment. Icelandic consumer and producer prices.

Eastern Europe: Czech GDP, consumer confidence and business sentiment. Hungarian producer prices and trade balance. Polish CPI.

Australia, New Zealand, and South African Releases: Australian quarterly CPI and PPI. Australian and South African monthly M3 and private credit growth. Australian export and import prices. New Zealand business confidence and trade balance. South African PPI, trade balance, and unemployment.

Canadian, Brazilian and Mexican Data: Canadian monthly and Mexican quarterly GDP. Canadian PPI and retail sales. Brazilian current account and unemployment. Mexican trade balance.
