Holiday and Events: The Islamic holy month-long observance of Ramadan continues. The United States and Canada go on daylight savings time this Sunday, which will slice the time differential between GMT and EDT to four hours from five. This is the final campaign week before the first round of French municipal elections. State elections in the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg and Colombian parliamentary elections are scheduled for this Sunday, March 8. The monthly OPEC Oil Report gets released on Thursday.

Michigan/Reuters consumer sentiment index. Weekly jobless insurance claims, chain store sales, energy inventories and mortgage applications.

Japanese and Chinese Releases: Japanese quarterly GDP, GDP price deflator and business sentiment. Monthly producer prices, import prices, machine tool orders, current account, money growth, bank lending, economy watchers index and indices of leading and and coincident economic indicators. Chinese CPI, PPI, trade balance, yuan loans, and M2 money stock.

Other Asian releases: South Korean unemployment, index of leading economic indicators and GDP. Indonesian retail sales and consumer confidence. Industrial production in Hong Kong and Malaysia. Indian consumer prices.

Euroland Releases: Industrial production and Sentix gauge of investor sentiment.

Members of the Euro Area: German industrial orders. German, Estonian, Italian, Irish, Slovakian, and Austrian industrial production. German and French current accounts. German, Spanish, French, Lithuanian, Latvian, Dutch Finnish and Portuguese consumer prices. German and Spanish indices of leading economic indicators. German, French, Slovakian, Portuguese, Finnish and Lithuanian trade balances. Irish construction purchasing managers index, Italian producer prices, Germany wholesale prices and Spanish retail sales.

U.K. and Switzerland: British monthly GDP, industrial production, construction output, trade balance, same store sales, Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors housing index, and index of leading economic indicators. Swiss consumer confidence.

Eastern Europe: Russian, Czech, Romanian, Hungarian and Polish consumer prices. Bulgarian and Czech retail sales. Romanian, Czech and and Bulgarian industrial production. Russian trade balance.

Nordic Europe: Norwegian, Swedish and Danish consumer prices. Danish trade balance and Norwegian PPI.

Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey: Australian business sentiment, consumer confidence and housing permits. New Zealand manufacturing purchasing managers index. South African and Turkish current accounts. South African GDP and CPI. Turish retail sales and industrial production.

Canadian Releases: labor market statistics, capacity usage, and manufacturing sales.

Mexico and Brazil: Mexican and Brazilian CPI and industrial production. Brazilian retail sales, PPI and index of leading economic indicators.
