Central Banks: Monetary policies will be reviewed in New Zealand, Indonesia, Romania and the Philippines. Minutes from the last policy meetings at the Reserve Bank of Australia and the Federal Open Market Committee are being published. The Fed is also preparing its semi-annual Monetary Policy Report. Daly, Bostic and Kashkari are some of the Fed officials with public engagements in the period, and European Central Bank President Lagarde will be delivering a speech.

Holidays and Events: The Chinese Lunar New Year holiday, observed to varying extents in several Asian countries, runs from February 15 to 23rd. Monday holidays in the United States will be observing President’s Day and Family Day, respectively. Markets will be paying attention to a number of important negotiations: trilateral talks among the United States, Russia and Ukraine in Geneva and the Munich Security Conference to name two.

Scheduled U.S. Data Releases: Quarterly GDP and PCE price deflator. Monthly personal income, personal consumption, PCE price deflator, industrial production, capacity usage, Philly Fed manufacturing survey, Empire State manufacturing survey, new home sales, pending home sales, NAHB housing market index, Treasury-compiled capital flows, durable goods orders, housing permits, housing starts, Conference Board-compiled consumer confidence, U. Michigan index of consumer sentiment and preliminary purchasing managers survey results. Weekly jobless insurance claims, energy inventories, chain store sales and mortgage applications.

Japanese Releases: GDP, industrial production, tertiary index, trade balance, machinery orders, consumer prices and preliminary PMI surveys.

Other Asia: Indian wholesale prices and preliminary PMI results. Indian and Hong Kong unemployment. Trade balances of Malaysia, Singapore and India. Thai GDP, Indonesian current account, Malaysian CPI and Chinese foreign direct investment.

Euroland Releases: Quarterly labor costs and negotiated wage awards. Monthly industrial production, construction output, current account, consumer confidence, ZEW Institute survey of investor sentiment and preliminary PMI results.

Members of the Euro Area: German, Irish, Lithuanian, Slovakian and Finnish consumer prices. German, French, Latvian, Portuguese, Irish producer prices. German and French preliminary PMIs. Dutch, Belgian and Slovenian consumer confidence. Spanish, Italian and Irish trade balances. Belgian business confidence, Slovenian GDP and Italian current account.

U.K. and Switzerland: British CPI, PPI, retail sales, labor market statistics, industrial trends survey, Rightmove house price index and preliminary purchasing manager survey results. Swiss trade balance.

Nordic Europe: Danish PPI, consumer confidence and GDP. Norwegian industrial production and Swedish CPI.

Eastern Europe: Polish PPI, industial production and current account. Polish and Russian PPI. Romanian consumer prices.

Australia and New Zealand: Australian jobless rate, employment growth, preliminary PMI results, Westpac-compiled index of leading economic indicators, and wage costs. New Zealand service sector purchasing managers index, trade balance and food prices.

South Africa and Turkey: South African CPI, retail sales, unemployment and business confidence. Turkish consumer confidence and capacity usage. Turkish and South African business confidence.

Canadian Releases: CPI, PPI, manufacturing sales, house prices, retail sales, trade balance and manufacturing sales.

Mexico and Brazil: Mexican retail sales and index of leading economic indicators. Brazilian business confidence.
