Central Banks: Policy meetings scheduled at the Bank of Korea and Bank of Canada. Minutes to be published from last FOMC and ECB policy meetings.

Holidays and Special Events: Easter Monday in Germany, France, Italy, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and many other members of the euro area. Family Day on Monday in South Africa. The IMF/World Bank meetings run all week in Washington with a theme of “Reshaping Development for a New Era.” There will be meetings of the G-24 and G-20 finance ministers and central bank governors.

Scheduled U.S. Data Releases: Retail sales, industrial production, consumer prices, producer prices, import prices, capacity utilization, small business sentiment, employment trends index, and U. Michigan index of consumer sentiment. Also weekly jobless insurance claims, mortgage applications, energy inventories, and chain store sales.

Japanese and Chinese Releases: Japanese PPI, bank lending, money growth, machine tool orders, machinery orders, consumer confidence, economy watchers index and current account. China’s trade balance, CPI, PPI, auto sales, and foreign direct investment.

Selected Other Asian Releases: Indian CPI, wholesale prices, trade balance and industrial production. South Korean import prices and unemployment. Indonesian consumer confidence.

Euroland Releases: Retail sales, producer prices, industrial production Sentix measure of investor sentiment, and index of leading economic indicators.

Members of the Euro Area: French and Spanish consumer prices. German wholesale prices and current account. Italian industrial production and Spain’s index of leading economic indicators.

U.K. and Switzerland: British quarterly labor productivity and monthly same-store sales, industrial production, GDP, balance of trade, construction output, and index of leading economic indicators. Swiss producer prices and import prices.

Eastern Europe: Russian CPI and current account. Hungarian consumer prices.

Australia and New Zealand: Australian monthly labor market statistics,  business confidence and conditions, consumer confidence and building permits. New Zealand’s manufacturing purchasing managers survey.

South Africa and Turkey: South African business confidence. Turkish retail sales, industrial production, and unemployment.

Canada, Brazil and Mexico: Canadian survey of manufacturing sales, orders, and inventories. Brazilian CPI, retail sales and business confidence. Mexican industrial production.
