Central Banks: The Federal Reserve heads a list of scheduled monetary policy board meetings that also includes South Africa, Canada, Hungary, Chile and Colombia. Fed Chairman will hold a press conference that is expected to prepare investors for the possibility of a rate hike at the following meeting in March. A summary of the this week’s Bank of Japan board meeting will be published.
Events and Holidays: The election process of the next president of Italy starts on Monday. Prime Minister Draghi is in the running for this post but not assured of getting such. India’s Republic Day and Australia Day will be observed on Wednesday.

Monthly personal income, personal spending, PCE price deflator, consumer confidence (both the Conference Board and Reuters/U. Michigan indices), Richmond Fed, Dallas Fed and K.C.
