Central Banks: No central bank policy reviews among major central banks are scheduled for the final week of 2021. A summary of the discussion at the last  Bank of Japan Board meeting will be published.

Holidays: Several countries such as the U.K., Canada, Australia, Italy and Switzerland will be observing Boxing Day early in the week, and almost every nation will be shut Friday to welcome in the new year.

Scheduled U.S. Data Releases: The advanced estimate of the U.S. trade deficit, the Richmond and Dallas Fed monthly manufacturing surveys, pending home sales, FHFA house price index, Case-Shiller house price index, and the Chicago regional purchasing managers index. Weekly chain store sales, jobless insurance claims, mortgage applications and energy inventories.

Japanese Data: Retail sales, unemployment, industrial production and Toyko’s CPI.

Other Selected Asian Releases: Chinese corporate profits and NBS-compiled purchasing manager survey results. Singaporean, Malaysian, and Filipino producer prices. South Korean and Thai retail sales, and industrial production. Hong Kong, Thai, and Malaysian trade balances. Indian and Thai current accounts. South Korean and Taiwanese consumer confidence. South Korean CPI, business confidence and construction output.

South African and Turkish Releases: South African and Turkish trade balances. South African money and private credit growth.

Euroland: Money and credit growth.

Members of the Euro Area: Spanish and Portuguese consumer prices. Cypriot, Austrian, and Greek producer prices. Spanish, Portuguese, Greek and Dutch retail sales. Spanish current account, Austrian manufacturing purchasing managers index, Cypriot unemployment and Finnish consumer confidence.

U.K. and Switzerland: British shop prices and Nationwide house price index. Swiss ZEW index of investor sentiment, and KOF leaders index.

Nordic Europe: Swedish trade balance and Norwegian retail sales.

Eastern Europe: Russian CPI, retail sales, business confidence, unemployment and composite, manufacturing and service sector purchasing manager surveys. Czech retail sales, business confidence and consumer sentiment.
