Central Banks: Monetary policies are scheduled for review next week in South Africa, Iceland, and Sri Lanka. The People’s Bank of China will set its one- and five-year Loan Prime Rates for the coming month. Minutes will be published from the last Australian and FOMC monetary policy meetings.

Events and Holidays: EU finance ministers hold their monthly meeting. Several holidays are being observed: Constitution Day in Norway, Eid al-Fitr in Indonesia on Monday-Wednesday, and Buddha’s Birthday in South Korea on Wednesday.

Scheduled U.S. Economic Data Releases: Housing starts, building permits, existing home sales, the NAHB housing market index, the Empire State and Philly Fed manufacturing survey results, index of leading economic indicators, and IHS’s preliminary PMI survey findings. Also weekly jobless insurance claims, consumer comfort, chain store sales, mortgage applications, and energy inventories.

Japanese and Chinese Releases: Japanese quarterly GDP. Monthly machinery orders, trade surplus, consumer prices, tertiary index, preliminary purchasing manager surveys, revised industrial production, capacity utilization, and PPI. Chinese home prices, industrial production, unemployment, retail sales and fixed asset investment.

Other Selected Asian Data: Indonesian and Singaporean trade. Hong Kong unemployment and CPI. Taiwan’s current account and South Korean producer prices.

Euroland: Quarterly GDP and employment growth. Monthly current account, trade surplus, construction output, consumer confidence, car sales, consumer prices, and preliminary PMIs.

Members of the Euro Area: German and French preliminary purchasing manager surveys. German, Irish, and Portuguese producer prices. Greek, Italian, and Portuguese current accounts. Cypriot, Dutch, and Finnish GDP. Dutch consumer confidence and household consumption. Italian and Spanish trade. Italian retail sales and construction output.

U.K. and Switzerland: British CPI, PPI, retail sales,  preliminary PMI results, industrial trends survey, new car sales, Rightmove house price index, and labor statistics. Swiss industrial production, PPI, and import prices.

Nordic Europe: Norwegian trade and Danish consumer confidence.

Eastern Europe: Hungarian and Romanian GDP. Polish PPI.

Australia, New Zealand and South Africa: Australian quarterly labor costs and monthly unemployment, retail sales, preliminary purchasing managers survey results, and index of leading economic indicators. New Zealand Westpac index of leading economic indicators, producer prices, and service sector PMI. South African business confidence, CPI, retail sales and industrial production.

Canadian and Mexican Data: Canadian retail sales, CPI, and housing starts. Mexican retail sales and  index of leading economic indicators.
