Central Banks: The keenly awaited final FOMC meeting of 2025 will happen on Tuesday-Wednesday. An expected interest rate cut will be accompanied by updated forecasts and followed by Chairman Powell’s press conference. On the week’s busy calendar for central bank watchers, others that are scheduled to review monetary stances include monetary authorities in Brazil, Switzerland, Canada, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Serbia, Peru, Ukraine and the Philippines. Philadelphia and Chicago Fed District Presidents Paulson and Goolsbee.

Other Special Events: The monthly OPEC Report gets published. Hong Kong legislative council elections will be held, and important trade talks between the United States and India are scheduled.

Scheduled U.S. Statistical Data Releases: Quarterly employment cost index, productivity and unit labor costs. Monthly trade deficit, small business sentiment, producer prices, job openings & quits, consumer inflation expectations, and index of leading economic indicators. Weekly jobless insurance claims, mortgage applications, energy inventories and chain store sales.

Japanese and Chinese Releases: Japanese 3Q GDP and monthly producer prices, money stock growth, machine tool orders, labor cash earnings, current account, industrial production, capacity usage, and economy watchers index. Chinese CPI, PPI, trade balance, international reserves, foreign direct investment, money growth and new yuan lending.

Other Asia: Indonesian retail sales, Malaysian industrial production, Indian CPI, and South Korean import prices.

Euroland Releases: Sentix gauge of investor sentiment.

Members of the Euro Area: German, Italian, French, Austrian, Irish, Finnish, Slovenian and Slovakian industrial production. French, German, Spanish, Lithuanian, Dutch, Portuguese  and Latvian consumer prices. Lithuanian, Croatian and Irish producer prices. German current account and trade balance. Irish construction purchasing managers survey.

British Data: Industrial production, monthly GDP, trade balance, factory output, and Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors housing price balance index.

Eastern Europe: Czech, Hungarian and Bulgarian industrial production. Czech and Bulgarian trade balances. Czech and Hungarian consumer prices. Bulgarian GDP.

Nordic Europe: Danish, Swedish and Icelandic CPI. Denmark’s current account and Norwegian producer prices.

Australia and New Zealand: Australian labor statistics, business confidence and conditions, and index of leading economic indicators. New Zealand food prices, manufacturing purchasing managers index and factory sales.

South Africa and Turkey: South African retail sales, factory output and consumer confidence. Turkish industrial production, retail sales and current account.

Canada, Mexico and Brazil: Canadian trade balance, housing permits and capacity utilization. Mexican and Brazilian consumer prices. Brazilian retail sales and business sentiment. Mexican  industrial productionn.
