Central Banks: Monetary policies will be reviewed at central banks in Canada, Russia, Georgia, Turkey and at the European Central Bank. Bank of Canada Governor Macklem and ECB President Lagarde hold post-meeting press conferences, and Reserve Bank of Australia Governor Bullock, Fed Chairman Powell, and FED Governor Barr give speeches.

Events: Argentine elections are scheduled for October 21, and there’s an EU leaders summit on Thursday-Friday.

U.S. Data Releases: Quarterly 3Q GDP. Monthly personal income, personal spending, PCE price deflator, advance estimate of merchandise trade deficit, durable goods orders, Case-Shiller and FHFA house price indices, pending home sales, new home sales, KC and Richmond Fed manufacturing surveys, preliminary purchasing manager surveys, and U. Michigan/Reuters index of consumer sentiment. Weekly jobless insurance claims, mortgage applications, energy inventories and chain store sales.

Euroland Releases: Preliminary purchasing managers survey findings and consumer confidence.

Members of the Euro Area: German and French PMIs. German, French, Italian, and Dutch consumer sentiment. German IFO business climate index and Italian business confidence. Spanish PPI, retail sales, GDP and unemployment. Italian industrial sales.

British Releases: Preliminary PMI surveys, labor productivity, unemployment, average wage earnings, and  the surveys of industrial trends and distributive trades.

Switzerland and Denmark: Swiss ZEW expectations index of investor sentiment and Danish consumer confidence.

Japanese Releases: PMI surveys, Tokyo consumer prices, corporate service prices and index of leading economic indicators.

Selected Other Asian Releases: South Korean PPI, GDP and consumer sentiment. Chinese corporate earnings. Singaporean CPI and industrial production.

Australia, Turkey and South Africa: Australian 3Q CPI, 3Q PPI and preliminary PMI surveys. Turkish consumer sentiment and business confidence. South African business cycle leading index.

Canada and Brazil: Canadian home prices. Brazil consumer confidence, PPI and current account.
