Central Banks: Monetary policies will be reviewed in Sweden, Peru, Mexico, Romania, Serbia, Russia, and the Philippines. N.Y. Fed President Williams, Bank of England Governor Bailey, and ECB Executive Board member Lane speak publicly during the week.

Holidays and Special Events: New Zealand’s Waitangi Day will be observed Monday. Japan’s National Foundation Day falls on Thursday, which is also the start of the Lunar New Year. China, South Korea, Indonesia, and Hong Kong are among the countries observing holiday closures at the end of the week. In the United States, the impeachment trial of former U.S. President Trump begins on Tuesday. A monthly OPEC meeting is scheduled Thursday.

Scheduled U.S. Economic Statistical Releases: Consumer prices, real wage earnings, the January fiscal deficit, the U. Michigan/Reuters consumer sentiment index, the JOLTs index, the employment cost index, and small business sentiment. Also weekly jobless insurance claims, mortgage applications, energy inventories, consumer comfort, and chain store sales.

Japanese and Chinese Data: Japanese money and bank lending growth, current account, machine tool orders and producer prices. China’s CPI, PPI, trade balance, foreign direct investment, and international reserves.

Other Selected Asian Releases: South Korean and Malaysian unemployment. Indonesian and Malaysian current accounts. Indian and Malaysian industrial production. Taiwanese trade balance and Indian consumer prices.

Euroland Releases: Industrial production and Sentix gauge of investor sentiment.

Members of the Euro Area: German, French, Italian, Spanish, Finnish, Greek, Belgian, and Dutch industrial production. German and Finnish current accounts. German, Finnish, Austrian, Portuguese, and Cypriot trade balances. Portuguese, German, Spanish and Dutch consumer prices. Greek and Portuguese unemployment. German wholesales prices.

U.K. and Switzerland: British GDP, trade balance, industrial production, construction output, same-store sales, and RICs house price balance index. Swiss unemployment and combined PPI/import price index.

Nordic European Releases: Danish and Norwegian consumer prices. Danish current account and industrial production. Norwegian GDP, consumer sentiment, and PPI.

Eastern Europe: Czech, Romanian, and Hungarian consumer prices. Czech, Romanian, and Russian trade balances. Czech unemployment, Romanian industrial production, and Polish GDP.

Australian and New Zealand: Australian business confidence & business conditions, new home sales, and Westpac index of consumer confidence. New Zealand food prices and manufacturing purchasing managers index.

South Africa and Turkey: South African and Turkish unemployment. South African factory output and business confidence. Turkish current account, retail sales, and industrial output.

Canada, Mexico, and Brazil: Canadian housing starts. Mexican CPI, industrial production and consumer confidence. Brazilian retail sales and consumer prices.
