FOMC macroeconomic projections will be updated. Reserve Bank of Australia minutes and the Bank of Japan’s quarterly Tankan survey of corporate expectations and conditions will be published. Fed Chairman Powell, Bank of England Governor Bailey, and Bank of Japan Governor Bailey, and Bank of Canada Governor Macklem speak publicly.

Events and Holidays: The U.S. electoral college votes Monday in accordance with their state election results. South Africa’s Day of Reconciliation falls on Wednesday.

U.S. Economic Data Releases: Quarterly current account. Monthly Philly Fed, Empire State, and K.C. Fed manufacturing surveys, retail sales, industrial production, import prices, housing starts, NAHB housing market index, building permits, capacity utilization, Treasury-compiled capital flows, and index of leading economic indicators. Weekly jobless insurance claims, chain store sales, energy inventories, consumer comfort, and chain store sales.

Japanese and Chinese Releases: Japanese trade balance, CPI, tertiary index, preliminary purchasing manager survey results, capacity usage, and revised industrial production. Chinese unemployment, retail sales, industrial production, house prices, fixed asset investment, and foreign direct investment.
