Central Banks: Monetary policy reviews in the Philippines, China, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Norway and Turkey. Minutes of recent reviews from the Reserve Bank of Australia, Federal Reserve, and European Central Bank will be published.

Events and Holidays: The U.S. Democratic Party national convention will run from Monday to Thursday mostly on a virtual basis. Euroland finance ministers meet early in the week. Monday is South Korea’s Liberation Day, and Indonesians will observe the Islamic New Year on Friday.

Scheduled U.S. Statistical Releases: The Philly Fed and Empire State manufacturing indices, the index of leading economic indicators, the IHS-compiled purchasing managers preliminary findings, Treasury-compiled capital flows, and the National Association of Home Builders monthly housing market index. Also weekly jobless insurance claims, mortgage applications, energy inventories, consumer comfort, and chain store sales.

Japanese Data: Second-quarter GDP. Monthly industrial production, capacity utilization, CPI, merchandise trade, machinery orders and preliminary August PMI results.

Other Asian Releases: Indonesian and Taiwanese current accounts. Indian, Singaporean, and Indonesian trade balances. Malaysian, Filipino, and Hong Kong consumer prices. Thailand GDP, Hong Kong unemployment, South Korean PPI and Indonesian business confidence.

Euroland Releases: Current account, consumer confidence, construction output, and preliminary purchasing managers survey results.

Members of the Euro Area: French and German preliminary PMI surveys. German, Irish and Belgian consumer confidence. German, Irish and Dutch producer prices. Greek and Italian current accounts. German business climate index, Austrian CPI, French index of leading economic indicators, and the Spanish trade balance.

U.K. and Switzerland: British CPI, RPI, PPI, ONS-compiled home prices, retail sales, consumer confidence, Rightmove house price index, public-sector net borrowing, and CBI industrial trends survey. Swiss money growth, industrial production and trade balance.

Nordic Europe: Danish consumer confidence and PPI. Norwegian trade balance, Swedish unemployment and Icelandic consumer prices.

Eastern Europe: Polish CPI and retail sales. Russian GDP and industrial production. Czech producer prices.

Australia, New Zealand and South Africa: Australian index of leading economic indicators, new home sales, and CBA-compiled purchasing manager indices. New Zealand retail sales, PPI, and service sector purchasing managers index.

Canada and Mexico: Canadian and Mexican retail sales. Canadian new home prices and consumer prices.
