Central Banks: Monetary policy reviews are scheduled next week in Indonesia and Sri Lanka, while the European Central Bank, FOMC, and Reserve Bank of Australia will publish minutes from their last policy meetings. Federal Reserve district presidents Mester and Bullard will be speaking publicly, and so too will the governors of the Bank of Canada and Reserve Bank of Australia.

Holidays: U.S. Presidents Day and Canada’s Family Day holidays fall on Monday.

Scheduled U.S. Economic Statistical Releases: Durable goods orders, existing home sales, the Philly Fed manufacturing index, ADP’s monthly estimate of private jobs growth and the usual weekly data on jobless insurance claims, mortgage applications, consumer comfort, chain store sales, and energy inventories.

Euroland Data: Preliminary purchasing managers surveys, consumer confidence, consumer prices and the current account.

Members of the Euro Area: German and French PMI surveys and consumer prices. German 4Q GDP, IFO monthly business climate index, and producer prices. Italian, Cypriot, and Austrian consumer prices. Italian orders, Dutch unemployment, and French index of leading economic indicators. Dutch and Belgian consumer confidence. Greek and Portuguese current accounts. Irish and Portuguese producer prices.

U.K. and Switzerland: British Rightmove house price index, public sector deficit and the CBI monthly surveys of industrial trends and distributive trades.

Nordic Europe: Danish consumer sentiment and Icelandic unemployment.

Eastern Europe: Polish and Hungarian retail sales.   Polish CPI and labor cost inflation.

Japan: Machinery orders, machine tool orders, consumer prices, preliminary manufacturing PMI survey, customs trade balance and all-industry index.

Selected Other Asian Releases: Malaysian and Hong Kong consumer prices. Singapore’s trade balance and retail sales. Thai GDP and Chinese house prices.

Australia and New Zealand: Australian unemployment and employment, CBA preliminary purchasing managers survey, Westpac-compiled index of leading economic indicators, and quarterly labor costs. New Zealand quarterly producer prices and  monthly services PMI.

South Africa and Turkey: South African consumer prices and Turkish consumer sentiment.

Canada and Brazil: Canadian retail sales. Brazilian consumer confidence and index of leading economic indicators.
