Central Banks: Monetary policy reviews are scheduled in Turkey, South Korea, Indonesia, New Zealand, South Africa, Iceland and Hungary. Minutes from the last FOMC meeting will be published.

Special Events: U.S. debt ceiling talks, which were unilaterally paused today by the Republican negotiators, will presumably resume at some point in the coming week and draw keen market attention. America’s ability to stave off default beyond the end of this month becomes increasingly problematic. Group of Seven political leaders will continue to hold a summit in Japan over this weekend. The coming week also marks the last week of campaigning in Turkey’s run-off presidential election.

Preliminary May Purchasing Manager Survey Ressult: are due Tuesday for Japan, Australia, Euroland, Germany, France, Great Britain and the United States. For each of these economies, a composite, manufacturing and service sector PMI index will be reported.

Other U.S. Data Releases: Quarterly GDP and PCE price deflator. Monthly personal income and spending, PCE deflator, Richmond and K.C. Fed manufacturing surveys, new home sales, pending home sales, Chicago Fed National Activity index, durable goods orders, advance trade balance, and U. Michigan/Reuters consumer sentiment index. Weekly jobless insurance claims, chain store sales, energy inventories, and mortgage applications.

Euroland Releases: Economic sentiment, consumer confidence, construction output, and current account.

Members of the Euro Area: German GDP, consumer confidence and IFO business climate. French, Italian and Belgian business confidence. Spanish, Irish and Finnish producer prices. Italian, Dutch and Belgian consumer confidence. French index of leading economic indicators. Italy’s current account.

British Releases: CPI, PPI, retail sales, industrial trends survey, distributive trades survey, public sector net borrowing, and Rightmove house price index.

Eastern Europe: Russian, Estonian, Latvian, and Slovakian producer prices. Czech consumer confidence and business sentiment. Polish PPI, industrial production and retail sales.

Nordic Europe: Swedish and Icelandic producer prices. Swedish and Norwegian retail sales. Danish consumer confidence, Swedish unemployment, and Icelandic CPI.

Japanese and Chinese Releases: Japanese and Chinese indices of leading economic indicators. Tokyo consumer prices.

Selected Other Asian Releases: South Korean business confidence and consumer sentiment. Singaporean and Thai industrial production. Singapore GDP and CPI. Indonesia’s current account and India’s index of leading economic indicators.

Australia and New Zealand: Australian and New Zealand retail sales.

South Africa and Turkey: South African business cycle leading index, CPI and PPI. Turkish business confidence and consumer sentiment.

Canada and  Mexico: Canadian producer prices. Mexican CPI and trade balance.
