Central Banks: Monetary policies will be reviewed in South Korea, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka. Minutes from the last Federal Open Market Committee, Reserve Bank of Australia, and European Central Bank policy reviews will be published. Rosengren, Brainard, and Bowman from the Federal Reserve, Schnabel and McCaul from the ECB and Ramsden, Saunders from the Bank of England, and Kent from the Reserve Bank of Australia are some of the central bank officials scheduled to speak publicly next week.

Holidays and Special Events: Presidents Day in the U.S. and Family Day in Canada fall on Monday. China will be observing the Lunar New Year on Monday-Wednesday, and Brazil’s Carnival runs Monday-Tuesday. EU finance ministers meet on Tuesday. The Trump impeachment trial will wrap up early in the period.

Preliminary Purchasing Manager Survey Results for February: Australia, Japan, Euroland, Germany, France, Great Britain, and IHS’s U.S. survey. These will cover both manufacturing and service sector activities.

Scheduled U.S. Economic Statistical Releases: Retail sales, industrial production, capacity utilization, import prices, existing home sales, NAHB housing market index,  housing starts, building permits, Empire State and Philly Fed manufacturing indices, and Treasury-compiled (TIC) capital flows. Weekly jobless insurance claims, consumer comfort, energy inventories, chain store sales, and mortgage applications.

Euroland: Second estimates of 4Q GDP and employment. Monthly current account, trade balance, industrial production, construction output, consumer confidence, and ZEW index of investor sentiment.

Members of the Euro Area: German ZEW Institute survey, Italian construction output, and Dutch household consumption. Dutch and Finnish GDP. French, Italian, Finnish, Irish and Greek consumer prices. Spanish, Italian, Dutch, and Irish trade balances. Greek, Portuguese, and Italian current accounts. French and Dutch unemployment. German and Portuguese producer prices. Dutch and Belgian consumer confidence.

U.K. and Switzerland: British CPI, PPI, Rightmove house price index, ONS house price index, car sales, consumer confidence, retail sales, public sector net borrowing, industrial trends survey, and index of leading economic indicators. Swiss industrial production.

Eastern European Releases: Romanian, Russian and Romanian GDP. Polish CPI, current account, industrial production and retail sales. Russian PPI and unemployment.

Nordic Europe: Danish PPI, GDP and consumer confidence. Swedish capacity usage.

Japanese Data: Quarterly GDP. Monthly CPI, machinery orders, customs trade balance, tertiary index, revised industrial production and capacity utilization.

Selected Other Asian Releases: Indian, Singaporean, and South Korean trade balances. Philippine CPI and South Korean PPI. Thai GDP, Indian wholesale prices, and Indonesia’s current account.

Australia and New Zealand: Quarterly New Zealand PPI and Australian labor costs. Monthly Australian employment, unemployment, retail sales and index of leading economic indicators. Monthly New Zealand services purchasing managers survey.

South Africa and Turkey: South African consumer prices and Turkish consumer confidence.

Canada and Brazil: Canadian CPI, housing starts, home prices and survey of manufacturing sales, inventories and orders. Brazilian business confidence.
