Central Banks:  There are interest rate policy meetings scheduled at the Fed, Bank of Japan, Swiss National Bank, Bank of England, and Bank Indonesia.  The FOMC meeting will be followed by the release of new forecasts and a press conference given by Janet Yellen.  ECB President Draghi and Bank of Canada Governor Poloz also speak publicly next week.

Scheduled U.S. Statistical Releases:  Retail sales, consumer prices, industrial production, capacity usage, the quarterly current account, monthly Treasury-compiled capital flows, the National Association of Home Builders housing index, import prices, housing starts, producer prices, Empire State manufacturing index, Philly Fed index, and weekly jobless insurance claims, consumer comfort, mortgage applications, energy inventories, and chain store sales.

Japanese Data:  Business sentiment, department store sales, revised industrial production, and machine tool orders.

Selected Other Asian Indicators:  Chinese money growth, foreign direct investment, retail sales, industrial output, and fixed asset investment.  Hong Kong producer prices, Malaysian consumer prices, and Singaporean retail sales. Indian wholesale prices and trade figures.

Euroland:  Industrial production, current account, consumer prices, employment, car sales, and labor costs.

Eurozone Members:  German and French indices of leading economic indicators.  French, Italian, Spanish, Italian and Finnish consumer prices.  Italian trade balance, Greek import prices and Belgian consumer confidence.

Britain and Switzerland:  British consumer prices, producer prices, DCLG home price index, retail sales, and labor statistics.  Swiss producer prices.

Eastern Europe:  Poland’s PPI, CPI and industrial production.  Czech producer prices.

Australia, New Zealand and South Africa:  Australian expected CPI inflation, labor statistics, auto sales, and business conditions and confidence.  New Zealand consumer sentiment and quarterly GDP and current account.  South African retail sales and current account.

Canada and Brazil:  Canadian monthly survey of manufacturing orders and shipments, CPI, and existing home sales. Brazilian retail sales and index of leading economic indicators.
