Two Currency Milestones Today

The euro dropped under $1.4000 for the first time since September 20, 2007, while the Australian dollar became weaker than $0.8000 for the first time since March 20, 2007. The euro and Australian dollar each peaked on July 15th at $1.6038 and $0.9849, respectively. Their average levels this decade, that is from the end of 1999, are $1.1589 per euro and $0.6930.
