Central Banks: Monetary policy reviews in the U.K., Australia, Iceland, the Czech Republic, India, and Thailand. The quarterly Reserve Bank of Australia Monetary Policy Statement and Bank of England Inflation Report will be published, and Governors Lowe and Bailey will speak on those occasions. Williams and Rosengren are among those Fed officials who will be speaking publicly during the week.

Holiday: Mexico’s Constitution Day on Monday.

Purchasing Managers Surveys for January: A slew of these corporate surveys will arrive next week. Most of the manufacturing surveys are due Monday. Service sector surveys and non-oil Middle Eastern PMIs hit the wires on Wednesday. Several construction surveys follow on Thursday.

Scheduled U.S. Statistical Releases: Quarterly productivity and unit labor costs. Monthly auto sales, labor market statistics (e.g., jobs, unemployment and average hourly wages), construction spending, New York regional PMI, trade balance, factory orders, consumer credit, and IBD/TIPP optimism index. Weekly jobless insurance claims, mortgage applications, consumer comfort, chain store sales, and energy inventories.

Euroland Data: Quarterly GDP and monthly unemployment, consumer prices, retail sales and producer prices.

Members of the Euro Area: German, Austrian and Belgian retail sales. Italian, Irish, and Portuguese GDP. Spanish, Irish, and Austrian unemployment. German industrial orders, Austrian producer prices, and Spanish consumer confidence. French and Irish current accounts. Italian, Cypriot, and French consumer prices.

U.K. and Switzerland: British car sales, Nationwide and Halifax house price indices,  M4 money growth and mortgage applications. Swiss CPI and consumer confidence.

Nordic Europe: Swedish and Norwegian GDP and industrial production. Swedish household consumption and industrial orders.

Eastern European Releases: Russian and Czech GDP. Russian, Czech and Hungarian retail sales. Romanian and Hungarian PPI. Hungarian retail sales and trade balance.

Japanese releases: household spending, monetary base, fx reserves, and index of leading economic indicators.

Selected Other Asian Data: Taiwanese, Indonesian, South Korean, Filipino, and Thai consumer prices. Thai business confidence and consumer sentiment. Hong Kong and Singapore retail sales. Thai and Taiwanese producer prices. South Korean current account and Indian trade balance. Filipino industrial production.

Australia, Turkey and New Zealand: Australian and New Zealand building permits. Australian retail sales, home loans, and trade balance. New Zealand quarterly labor market statistics and monthly business confidence and service sector purchasing managers index. Turkish CPI and PPI.

Canadian Releases: Monthly labor statistics, trade balance and IVEY-PMI index.

Brazil and Mexico: Brazilian industrial production, trade balance and CPI. Mexican business confidence.
