Central Banks: Monetary policies will be reviewed in Indonesia, Singapore, Chile, South Korea, and Sri Lanka. The Fed Beige Book of regional U.S. economic conditions will be published.

Events and Holidays: A Biden-Trump scheduled debate originally scheduled this week has been cancelled. There will be a meeting of the European Council Thursday and Friday, and the Annual meetings of the IMF and World Bank (virtual) run Wednesday-Friday. U.S. Columbus Day and Canadian Thanksgiving fall on Monday.

U.S. Statistical Economic Data Releases: Consumer prices, producer prices, import prices, retail sales, industrial production, capacity utilization, NAHB housing market index, IBD/TIPP economic optimism index, Treasury-compiled capital flows, NFIB small business sentiment index, the Philly Fed and Empire State manufacturing surveys, and the Reuters/U. Michigan index of consumer sentiment. Also weekly jobless insurance claims, consumer comfort, chain store sales, mortgage applications, and energy inventories.

Euroland Releases: Consumer prices, trade balance, industrial production and ZEW index of investor sentiment.

Members of the Euro Area: German ZEW index of investor sentiment. German, Spanish, Portuguese, Finnish, Austrian, Italian and French CPI. Italian, Cypriot, Belgian, and Dutch trade balances. French and Spanish indices of leading economic indicators. Finnish current account, Italian factory orders, Greek import prices, and Dutch unemployment. Irish construction purchasing managers index and consumer confidence. Belgian business confidence and construction output.

U.K. and Switzerland: British labor market statistics, productivity, same-store sales, distributive trades survey and index of leading economic indicators. Swiss PPI/import price index and updated government economic forecasts.

Eastern Europe: Russian and Polish current accounts. Russian, Polish and Hungarian industrial production.  Czech CPI and PPI. Romania’s trade balance.

Nordic Europe: Danish CPI and PPI. Swedish CPI and unemployment. Norway’s trade balance.

Japanese and Chinese Releases: Japanese machinery orders, machine tool orders, revised industrial production, capacity usage, PPI, money growth, bank lending and tertiary index of service sector activity. Chinese CPI, PPI, money and bank lending growth, foreign direct investment, trade balance, property prices, CPI, industrial production, retail sales, fixed asset investment and unemployment.

Selected Other Asian Data: Indian and Malaysian industrial production. South Korean, Singaporean, Indian, and Indonesian trade balances. South Korean and Malaysian unemployment. Singaporean GDP and Indonesian business sentiment. Indian WPI and CPI.

Australia and New Zealand: Australian unemployment, employment, Westpac consumer confidence index and NAB business confidence and business conditions indices. New Zealand food prices and manufacturing purchasing managers index.

South Africa and Turkey: South African factory output and retail sales. Turkish current account, industrial production, retail sales and current account.

Canada and Mexico: Canadian retail sales and survey of manufacturing sales, orders and inventories. Mexican industrial production and index of leading economic indicators.
