Central Banks: Interest rate-setting meetings scheduled in Australia, Israel, India, Poland, Romania and Peru. Minutes from the last policy meetings of the Fed FOMC and ECB Governing Council will be published. Tarullo, Harker, and Williams are some of the Fed officials speaking publicly. Bank of Japan Kuroda and Assistant Governor Debelle of the Reserve Bank of Australia also have public appearances scheduled.

Purchasing Manager Surveys: Various PMI releases will dot the week. Most will cover manufacturing in the following economies: United States, Euroland, China, Japan, India, Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain,Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Greece, Ireland, Great Britain, Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Canada, Malaysia, The Philippines, Thailand, Russia, Czech Republic, Poland, Turkey, Norway, Brazil, Mexico, and Taiwan. Service-sector PMI’s will be released for China, the U.S., India, Australia, Euroland, France, Germany, Ireland, Russia, Brazil, the U.K., and Japan. Private and/or non-oil PMI’s are due for Egypt, the U.A.E., Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, South Africa, and Singapore. Construction PMIs arrive for the U.K., Germany and Australia, and retail PMIs involve the euro area, Germany, France and Italy.

Special Events and Holidays: U.S. President Trump and Chinese President Jinping hold a summit on Thursday. Ching Ming Festival in China and Hong Kong. Ram Navami in India.

Scheduled U.S. Statistical Releases: Monthly labor market data on wage earnings, employment growth and unemployment. Also construction spending, motor vehicle sales, the trade balance, factory orders, New York PMI (known as the NAPM index), IBD/TIPP Optimism index, and ADP estimate of private sector jobs, plus weekly jobless insurance claims, mortgage applications, consumer comfort, energy inventories and chain store sales.

Japanese Data: The line-up features the Bank of Japan’s quarterly corporate Tankan survey and includes auto sales, the monetary base, international reserves, bank lending, consumer confidence, real cash earnings and the index of leading economic indicators.

Selected Other Asian Releases: Chinese reserves, Indonesian consumer sentiment, and South Korean current account. Indonesian, Thai, South Korean and Filipino consumer prices. Thai and Filipino producer prices.

Euroland: Unemployment, retail sales, producer prices and quarterly home prices.

Members of the Euro Zone: German industrial production, orders, current account and trade balance. French and Spanish industrial output. French and Greek trade balances. Dutch and Cypriot consumer prices and Austria’s WPI. Spanish and Greek unemployment. Italian retail sales and French current account.

Great Britain and Switzerland: British shop prices, same-store sales, industrial production, trade balance, construction output, Halifax house price index, monthly GDP, and quarterly unit labor costs. Swiss retail sales, consumer prices and unemployment.

Eastern Europe: Romanian, Hungarian and Czech retail sales. Romanian PPI and GDP. Czech industrial production and retail sales.

Nordic Europe: Industrial output in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

Turkey and Australia: Turkish CPI, PPI and retail sales. Australian trade balance, building permits, job ads, retail sales and business confidence and conditions.

Canada, Brazil and Mexico: Canadian labor statistics, IVEY-PMI index, trade balance and building permits. Brazilian CPI, PPI, industrial production and trade balance. Mexican consumer sentiment.
