Central Banks: The first of eight scheduled FOMC meetings is on Tuesday and Wednesday and will not be associated with a published Summary of Economic Projections or a press conference by Chair Yellen. A policy meeting at the Bank of Japan on Monday-Tuesday will be associated with a released “Outlook” including revised macroeconomic forecast and a press conference by Governor Kuroda. Likewise, the Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee will release its quarterly Inflation Report on Thursday at the time when it reveal its monetary policy decisions. Governor Carney will hold a press conference. Other countries with interest rate meetings next week are Thailand, the Czech Republic and Russia. Bank of Canada Governor Poloz, Chicago Fed President Evans and Reserve Bank of Australia Assistant Governor DeBelle speak publicly.

Purchasing Manager Surveys: for the manufacturing sectors of Euroland, Japan, the United States, U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Ireland, Greece, Austria, Australia, The Netherlands, Malaysia, China, Russia, Canada, Indonesia, Sweden, South Korea, The Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Mexico, Brazil, Lebanon, Taiwan, Vietnam, the Czech Republic, Poland, Turkey, India, and South Africa. Service sector PMIs will cover Japan, China, Italy, France, Germany, Australia, Euroland, Britain, India, Ireland, Russian Spain and The United States. The British construction PMI.

Lunar New Year Holiday: China’s market is shut Monday through Thursday. Hong Kong is closed Monday and Tuesday. Singapore and South Korea are affected Monday.

Scheduled U.S. Data Releases: Personal income and spending, employment, the jobless rates, average hourly wages, the ADP estimate of private jobs, construction spending, motor vehicle sales, the employment cost index, labor productivity and unit labor costs, pending home sales, consumer confidence, factor orders, the IBD/TIPP Optimism index, the Case Shiller house price index, the Chicago regional PMI and weekly jobless insurance claims, chain store sales, mortgage applications, energy inventories and consumer comfort.

Euroland Statistics: Economic sentiment, real GDP, unemployment, producer prices, consumer prices and retail sales. The European Commission publishes new macroeconomic forecasts.

Members of the Euro Area: German unemployment and retail sales. Spanish, French, Belgian and Austrian GDP. Spanish, German and Italian consumer prices. Italian, French, Austrian, Greek and Cypriot producer prices. Portuguese business sentiment, consumer confidence and industrial production. Greek retail sales and French consumer spending.

Britain and Switzerland: U.K. money growth, shop prices, consumer confidence, and the Nationwide house price index. Swiss retail sales and index of leading economic indicators.

Eastern Europe: Hungarian and Romanian producer prices. Hungarian retail sales and trade balance. Czech unemployment.

Nordic Europe: Norwegian retail sales, Icelandic producer prices and Danish unemployment.

Japanese Statistics: Retail sales, unemployment, household spending, motor vehicle output, industrial production, small business confidence, housing starts, construction spending, bankruptcies, consumer confidence and monetary base.

Selected Other Asian Releases: South Korean retail sales, CPI, current account, and industrial production. Malaysian and Thai producer prices. Thai trade balance and CPI.

Australia and New Zealand: New Zealand quarterly labor statistics. New Zealand and Australian trade balances. Australian business confidence, consumer sentiment, and building permits. New Zealand M3 money growth and Australian private sector credit growth.

South Africa and Turkey: South African and Turkish trade balances. South African money and credit growth. Turkish consumer and producer prices.

Canada: Monthly GDP, producer prices, raw material prices and IVEY-PMI.

Brazil and Mexico: Brazilian unemployment, PPI, trade, and industrial output. Mexican GDP and consumer confidence.
