Central Banks:  Interest rate policy meetings at the ECB and in South Korea, Indonesia, Turkey, Sweden and Ukraine.  The Reserve Bank of Australia releases minutes from its meeting earlier in April.  N.Y. and Boston Fed Presidents Dudley and Rosengren speak publicly.  So do Reserve Bank of Australia Governor Stevens and ECB President Draghi.

Events:  World Bank/IMF spring meetings in Washington wind up this weekend.  Brazil holds a vote April 16 to decide whether to impeach President Rousseff.

Scheduled U.S. Data Releases:  The Chicago Fed National Activity index, the Philly Fed manufacturing index, the National Association of Homebuilders housing index, the FHFA house price index, existing home sales, housing starts, building permits, Markit Economics’ preliminary manufacturers purchasing managers index, the Conference Board’s index of leading economic indicators, and weekly jobless insurance claims, consumer comfort, chain store sales, energy inventories and jobless insurance claims.

Euroland:  Preliminary manufacturing, services and composite PMIs, consumer confidence, the ZEW index of investor confidence, the current account, and construction output.

Members of the Eurozone:  The German IFO Institute’s business climate index, the ZEW index of investor sentiment, consumer confidence, producer prices, and preliminary composite, manufacturing and service-sector purchasing manager indices.  French and Italian business sentiment.  France’s preliminary PMI scores.  Belgian and Dutch consumer confidence.  Greek, Italian and Portuguese current accounts.  Italian retail sales and industrial orders.  Portugal’s PPI and Spain’s trade balance.

Britain and Switzerland:  British labor statistics, CBI surveys of industrial trends and distributive trades, and Rightmove house price index.  Swiss money growth, trade surplus, and ZEW index of investor sentiment.

Nordic Europe:  Danish retail sales and consumer sentiment.  Icelandic wage costs.

Eastern Europe:  Czech, Russian and Polish producer prices.  Polish retail sales and industrial production.

Brazil and Canada:  Brazil’s index of leading economic indicators and current account.  Canadian retail sales, wholesale turnover, and consumer prices.

Japan:  The tertiary index, preliminary manufacturing PMI, machine tool orders and both department store and supermarket sales.

Selected Other Asian Economic Indicators:  Chinese property prices, MNI business indicator, and index of leading economic indicators.  Indian wholesale prices, index of leading economic indicators, and trade balance.  Singapore’s trade balance.  Filipino GDP, Hong Kong consumer prices, and South Korea’s PPI.

Australia and New Zealand:  Aussie motor vehicle sales, business sentiment, and index of leading economic indicators.  New Zealand’s services PMI, consumer sentiment and quarterly consumer prices.
