Holidays:  Japan on Wednesday for Emperor’s birthday.  Most markets close early on Thursday.  Christmas on Friday observed in most markets with the notable exception of Japan.

Special Political Event:  Spanish parliamentary election on December 20.

Scheduled U.S. data:  Revised GDP, Chicago Fed National Activity Index, new and existing home sales, FHFA home price index, Richmond Fed manufacturing index, personal income and spending, U. Michigan consumer sentiment, and weekly observations of jobless insurance claims, consumer comfort, mortgage applications, energy inventories, and chain store sales.
