Central Banks:  Interest rate policy meetings take place next week in the United States, Japan, Indonesia, Russia, Norway, and Switzerland.  Yellen and Kuroda will be conducting press conferences after the FOMC and BOJ meetings.  Nakaso of the BOJ, Mester of the Fed, and Kent of the Reserve Bank of Australian also speak publicly during the week.  RBA minutes and Bank of England minutes of the last policy meetings will be published.

Japanese Data:  The all industry index, customs trade, the index of leading economic indicators, department store sales and machine tool orders.  The government releases its monthly economic assessment.

Selected Data Releases from Other Asian Countries:  Chinese property prices, foreign direct investment, and business sentiment.  Indian wholesale prices and index of leading econojic indicators.  Singaporean trade and retail sales.  Indonesian trade, South Korean consumer confidence, Filipino current account and Malaysian consumer prices.

Scheduled U.S. Data:  Empire State and Philly Fed manufacturing indices, the National Association of Home Builders housing market index, industrial production, capacity utilization, housing starts, building permits, Treasury-compiled capital flows, and weekly observations for jobless insurance claims, consumer comfort, chain store sales, energy inventories, and mortgage applications.  The Fed releases updated macro forecasts.

Canada and Brazil:  Canadian wholesale turnover, consumer prices, retail sales and survey of manufacturing.  Brazilian retail sales and index of  leading economic indicators.

Euroland:  Quarterly growth in jobs and labor costs, monthly current account, trade, consumer prices, construction output, car registrations, and investor sentiment (from the ZEW Institute).

National Data from Members of the Eurozone:  German consumer prices, PPI, and ZEW index.  Italian current account, trade balance, and CPI.  Spanish, Dutch and Irish trade figures.  Dutch consumer sentiment, unemployment and retail sales.  Austrian and Finnish consumer prices.  Finnish retail sales and current account.  Portugal’s PPI.

Great Britain:  CPI, PPI, DCLG index of home prices, labor market statistics, retail sales, public-sector net borrowing, index of leading economic indicators, and Rightmove home price index.

Switzerland:  Producer prices, retail sales, investor sentiment, and trade balance.  The Swiss government will release updated macro forecasts.

Nordic Europe:  Swedish unemployment and Danish producer prices.  Icelandic consumer prices and Norway’s trade balance.

Eastern Europe:  Polish retail sales, consumer prices, PPI, retail sales and current account.  Czech producer prices and current account.

Australia and New Zealand:  Aussie index of leading economic indicators and motor vehicle sales.  New Zealand current account, consumer confidence and performance of services index.

Turkey and South Africa:  Turkish unemployment.  South African retail sales, CPI and current account.
